Charles Wilkinson

Charles Wilkinson is a multi award-winning documentary and dramatic film and television director, and published author.

His more recent titles include documentary feature films, Peace Out, Oil Sands Karaoke, and Haida Gwaii: On The Edge Of The World. His newest book, published this year by Red Deer Press is Peace Out: Adventures on the Road to Green Energy. The latest film from Charles – Haida Gwaii: On The Edge Of The World - a film where audiences are finding some solutions to our global sustainability dilemma – has won numerous awards including the top award at Hot Docs – the largest documentary festival in North America. Charles lives with his family near Vancouver, BC, and was recently adopted into the Haida Nation – Raven / Killer Whale Clan.

Tina Schliessler

Producer, Cinematographer, Editor

Tina Schliessler is a documentary film producer and cinematographer based in Vancouver, Canada. Her artistic roots are varied. She produced numerous animation short films and an animated series for NDR TV in Germany.

Trained in painting and photography she has had numerous exhibitions of her work, including the Moving Portraits series and Bushwhack, a photographic series of iconography found in nature. In collaboration with writer/poet Heather Haley she produced the documentary short film Bushwhack, which played at various festivals including the Haida Gwaii Film Festival and the Vancouver Women in Film Festival in 2011.

Over the last several years Tina has focused on feature documentaries. With her partner, director Charles Wilkinson, she produced the multi award winning documentary films Down Here 2008, Peace Out 2011, Oil Sands Karaoke 2013 and Haida Gwaii On The Edge of the World 2015 which won ‘Best Canadian Feature Film’ at Hot Docs 2015 and ‘Most popular Canadian Documentary’ at VIFF.

Tina is finishing illustrating a children’s book by noted children’s author Diane Culling, and working on a new feature documentary with Charles about rays of global hope.

Kevin Eastwood

Executive Producer

Kevin Eastwood is an award-winning producer and director who works in both drama and non-fiction. Most recently he was the director and co-executive producer of Emergency Room: Life and Death at VGH – a six-part documentary series that was nominated for two Canadian Screen Awards and won Best Documentary Series and The People’s Choice Award at the 2014 Leo Awards. Other recent non-fiction productions include: Oil Sands Karaoke (executive producer), Do You Really Want to Know? (producer) and Eco-Pirate: The Story of Paul Watson (producer).

Recent dramatic credits include the new CBC Television series The Romeo Section from acclaimed showrunner Chris Haddock, and the movie Preggoland directed by Jacob Tierney and starring Sonja Bennett, James Caan and Danny Trejo. Some of Kevin’s other dramatic credits as a producer include: Crimes of Mike Recket, Fido, The Delicate Art of Parking and the Gemini Award-winning CTV movie, Elijah.
